BSc Horticulture is an undergraduate course pursued by students after the completion of 10+2. B. Sc Horticulture teaches to deal with the cultivation of seeds, vegetables, plants, flowers, herbs, fruits, shrubs, gardens, maintaining nurseries, greenhouses, etc. Students learn about plant diseases, growth, and genetics and also about the ways to enhance the growth and productivity of the plants.

The most confusing question that comes to students’ mind is that- Is CET required for BSc Horticulture?

The answer to this is NO. Most of the time students are confused about the admission criteria of the BSc Horticulture course. Some find qualifying for CET compulsory, and due to which they drop the idea of taking admission. This article will help you solve your problem by answering your question.

The Common Entrance Test (CET) is a competitive exam conducted for admission to full-time courses in medical, dental, and engineering courses in professional colleges. This exam does not have any concern with Horticulture courses. This exam is held every year. Students qualifying for this exam can take admission into various medical, dental, and engineering courses such as MBBS, BDS, B.Tech, etc. The test is based on the CBSE syllabus and the merit list is affirmed with state-wise rankings. This test is applicable for admission to almost all medical colleges in the country, including private medical colleges.

  • The minimum age for admission is 17years and upper age limit for pursuing this course 35 years.

 

Hence, it is very obvious that students do not require to appear for CET for getting admission into Horticulture courses. Admission in this can be taken on a merit-based or by qualifying for State or University level entrance exam. Most of the students take admission on a merit basis as it is much easier than other procedures.
