Bsc Agriculture is one of the most popular specializations of Bsc. This is a four year undergraduate course which is divided into eight semesters. Bsc Agriculture focuses on genetics and plant breeding, agricultural microbiology, etc. Although it is a career oriented course but it is very important for a student to choose a fine college which not only increases a student’s knowledge but also prepares him for practical sessions.
There are several colleges in Dehradun, Uttarakhand that offer BSc Agriculture course. All these colleges are recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and affiliated to State or Central University. There are number of students who belong to other states but prefer to study from Dehradun due to the quality of education provided here. Admission in these colleges is done either on merit basis or by qualifying entrance exam. The annual fee for BSc Agriculture is around INR 50,000 to INR 60,000 or Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000rs per semester whereas fee for the students securing seats on the basis of qualifying entrance exam (State or Central level ) is much lesser. But the placement program is held for all the students after completion of course. It is not false to say that studying from Dehradun is not only affordable but one can enjoy peaceful environment and quality learning at the same time.
