BTech Mechanical Engineering is a four year under graduate course divided into eight semesters. It is the branch of engineering that focuses on production, designing and operations of machines. The objective of this course is to train students to apply the principles of mechanical engineering for designing, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering is related to the design and production of machines which further reduces human labour.
Mechanical engineers design equipments such as batteries, athletic equipment , personal computers, air conditioners, automobile engines, electric power plants etc. With the rapid industrial revolution, the demand for machines has increased. This has led to an increase in the demand for mechanical engineers too.
Candidates willing to take admission in this course must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% and having Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects. Admission can be taken directly or by qualifying JEE examination. Students qualifying JEE examination get relaxation on the fee charged for the course on the basis of the rank secured by them in the exam. Some colleges conduct their own entrance exam also. Polytechnic Diploma holders can also take lateral entry or admission in second year of B.Tech.
After completing BTech Mechanical Engineering, graduates get ample of job opportunities with a high salary package and reputed designation. There are many Indian and international companies that have ventured in India with an objective to expand their business.
